Hai friends today let´s try Fish curry kulambu


Fish – 1 kg
Onion – 1 chopped
Green chillies -2 slitted
Oil for saurting
Tamarind paste – 3/4 teaspoon
Red chilli powder -2 teaspoon
coriander powder – 4 teaspoon
turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Curry leaves

For Tampering

fenugreek seeds, sombu- Jeera & whole pepper – each 1/2 teaspoon

For grinding

Onion -1
Coriander seeds -3 teaspoon
Red chillies -2 and green chilli -1
Jeera – 1/2 teaspoon
Tomato small size -2
Grated coconut -3 teaspoon
Sombu- 1/4 teaspoon
Garlic cloves – 8
Whole pepper corns – ½ teaspoon
Oil as needed for frying above ingredients.


Fry well all the ingredients for grinding. Let it cool for a few minutes and grind that well.
Pour oil in Kadai & heat it. Add the items under tempering and curry leaves fry for aminute & add chopped onions, green chillies and the grinded masala. Let it fry for some time.
In the mean time mix tamarind past in 2 cups of water. Add Red chilli powder, coriander powder ,turmeric powder and salt. Pour this in kadai. Cover it with lid and cook for minimum of 30 minutes in medium fire. Then open the lid and check the color and consistency if need add watter and also the oil should float on the top.
Finally add fish pieces and cook foranother 5 – 6 minutes. (After adding the fish pieces don’t cook it for more minutes. If so the pieces will get mashed.)
That´s all fish curry is ready
